Flexrotor

// DESCRIPTION

Designed specifically to operate over oceans, the Flexrotor, is a vertically launched drone that can remain in the air for almost two days. The UAV uses global positioning satellite navigation and infrared cameras to track illegal fishing and poaching, allowing you to safeguard those MPAs.

Bells and whistles: The UAV is operable from small vessels and can be deployed from a small helideck in moderate weather, or with a special apparatus in rough weather. Onboard ship equipment, like radar, Automatic Identification System and GPS, command the aircraft's flight plan and designate which images to target, with imagery viewable in real time.

List of achievements: Precision Integrated Programs launched the Flexrotor for a successful test flight over Cocos Island, Costa Rica in January 2015. The mission was to collect enough video evidence to aid law enforcement in prosecuting of illegal fishing. Flexrotor has also been used to support humanitarian missions to find and recover migrants at sea.
