Oceania Marine Tracking Buoy
The Oceania Marine Tracking Buoy is a solar powered monitoring system and well-suited for protecting MPAs. Equipped with a range of sensors, the buoy can transmit data to a server on board a vessel or on land, anywhere in the world.
Quite the multitasker: The buoy can be used for oceanography data monitoring and tidal drift monitoring and can serve as a marker buoy in search and rescue situations. To add to this list, the Oceania buoy can also track icebergs, oil spills and other navigational hazards.
The data king: This buoy collects and transmits data to a dedicated server. This server can be housed either on a vessel or in an office, anywhere in the world. The McMurdo Marine Solutions Tracking Buoy Management and Monitoring Software is capable of tracking up to 2,000 buoys at a time and can be controlled and monitored from different locations simultaneously.
Sensors for all: The sensor suite includes a GPS receiver, an Iridium transceiver, surface temperature and out-of-water sensors, as well as a light beacon that can be remotely activated. By design, these buoys can have up to five additional sensors in order to meet user requirements.
Energy saver: The solar powered battery charge enables two years of continuous use, while its rugged design permits operations in a wide range of temperatures.
